Woops, I guess some of these were typos, sorry! xD I have a lot of trouble with verbs, but that's not only in english...I wish I could improve that somehow... I don't think changing the order of "easier" and "faster" is relevant ( I looked it up on the Internet ( Linguee...stuff like that), and I don't see any rule about that, nor do I see people saying it in a specific order, but if you say so... Sorry about creating a grammar nazi loop, but I'm really curious, I'll ask my teacher about this! )However, I truly meant "about"... [like...the content, the topic of the vid]. Thanks, Armeo! Oh, and... I have a question : Did anyone here pass the TOEIC or TOEFL? RE: This topic is for speak English - Choubi-choubi - 03-12-2017 I wish a merry Christmas and an happy new year at all the lak community. I believe this month of December will be so good. Allow me to reiterate : (01-12-2017, 2:50)Armeo a écrit : Also, I don't study English with English classes, so don't ask me about rules or whatever, I don't have a clue about all that. You may ask your teacher but I doubt he or she will find an actual "rule" to match. What I meant is that "easy for you" is a much more common structure than "faster for you," with sentences such as "easy for you to say" or "that's so easy for you!" Therefore, it was my very unacademic suggestion that the two be switched up in your sentence: because it sounds more natural when you (I) read it. Then again, I found nothing else to correct so I thought I'd be more picky ^^ (02-12-2017, 17:36)Hyskapela a écrit : However, I truly meant "about"... [like...the content, the topic of the vid]. I was unsure what you meant there, so I just went with instincts. I can't say you'll find a rule there either, but I would have said "about the different accents" in this case. Again, strictly speaking, there is nothing wrong with the sentence. It's mostly about how confortable it feels when you (I) read it. (02-12-2017, 17:36)Hyskapela a écrit : Oh, and... I have a question : Did anyone here pass the TOEIC or TOEFL? It's been suggested to me, but one day a very good English teacher of mine stated the obvious: ticking boxes on an answer sheet to get a perishable certification doesn't prove anything about your English. But yea: companies love it, and if you want that nice looking corporate job, it'll be a good asset. Luckily for me, that is not a requirement in my line of work :'-) If you are interested in taking more complete tests, I'd suggest the Cambridge English exams. There are sessions all year round in many parts of France. Other than that...
... and because I've just used it in my spoiler, here's an early Christmas present: Google Ngram ! This tool will allow you to plot usage statistics on any word or idiom based on a huge corpus of books. Very useful when you don't know which spelling of a word is more frequent for instance. RE: This topic is for speak English - Choubi-choubi - 04-12-2017 I am so sad today, because I have a 8,5 on 20.
